I went here recently with a group of friends for the first time who looked at me as if to say, ‘Why have you booked this really romantic venue for us to all drink wine in and gossip?’ I actually didn’t realise what a romantic venue this place was until I walked in. The bar and restaurant are attached to the grand looking Rosewood Hotel near Holborn Station and inside it looks like a posh French Brasserie with low lit lamps, intimate booths and soft music. There were groups like us there too but the vast majority were couples. Just everywhere. The food is good although not cheap, but it would be a good place to go just for cocktails as they have a long stylish copper topped bar which serves cocktails with many a couple (just everywhere) propping it up. They also have a terrace for the summer – and outside spaces in central London that don’t have the soundtrack of rush hour traffic are hard to come by!
Dinner for 2 with lots of wine around £100.
Cocktails around £11 each.
