Newly opened in the last few months this date place is perfectly located in Covent Garden on Maiden Lane and serves posh Spanish tapas that is REALLY yummy. The venue is set up perfectly for a date as there are no tables just a bar you can sit at and a bar wrapped around the room with high stools so you have to sit very close together and share dishes like Semi-Cured Galician Beef Filet, Octopus “Rosellat” and Milhojas de Chorizo. I didn’t know what any of that meant either, but it’s really good! I would advise trying to sit at the bar if you can as that way you can watch them preparing all the food and the waiters and kitchen staff are really friendly, so you can potentially chat to them instead if your date is a bit of a yawn-fest. They also do tons of amazing Spanish wines and also different variations of Spanish Gin and Tonic and let’s be honest, if you really want to get involved in the Spanish gin culture you need to try them all. It’s in the name of culture, obvs.
I unfortunately can’t go back for a while as it was the first time I decided to drunkenly drop into conversation that I had a blog in the hope of some freebies, but their response to this (quite rightfully) was, ‘That’s nice.’ Shameful….
Dinner for 2 with Gin and Wine is about £100.
